We express our deep and bitter sorrow at the horrific massacre that took place in Shirka Woreda of the Arsi Diocese and the severe attack on our people.
âSince human beings are created in the image and likeness of God; their life and dignity are irreplaceable, it is a fact that neither the mortal nor the murderer can forget. The horrific act that took place in Shirka Woreda of the Arsi region is a tragic incident that has shaken the peace of the community. In this time of trouble, we stand by our people who have been affected, comfort them with prayer and humanitarian support, and call on the responsible authorities to ensure justice and accountability for the peace to come. We fully believe that our people who have been victims of death will receive the crown of life like the Martyrs of the past.
âIn this difficult time; our church has stood firm for centuries not with blood but with mercy, not with evil we strongly urge the faithful to have faith as firm as a rock in this trial.
May our God and Savior Jesus Christ; grant eternal rest to those who were massacred, to the families of those who have suffered physical injuries; protect our Holy Church; and bring peace and love to our country and our people!
